And it's acid free, so it will last for years.

I finally have convinced myself that my photo albums are working well enough to let everyone else have a go at them. I have spent a few hours on this (just ask Lauren) — getting it all integrated, pretty, and debugged. Though I am sure that now that it has gone live on this site, many bugs will show up. If that is the case, I will do my best to keep them working and in a sane condition.

Here is how you add your own images.

  1. Select the "create content" link in the navigation box at the left of the screen
  2. Select the "acidfree media" link that appeared below the "create content" link or the one in the middle of the page
  3. If you are adding an album, create it here. If you are adding images or video, select the appropriate tab.
  4. Fill out the form by setting a title. If you want to skip the title, it will default to the filename of the image or video.
  5. Select whether or not you want this to be a private post
  6. Select the image or video using the browse button
  7. Select the parent album — this is usually the album that has your name on it. Make sure you do pay attention to this so all the images don't end up in the root album.
  8. Choose a weight if you want. This will give a semi-order to the items in an album with lower weights coming first and higher weights coming last (think lead and feathers here.)
  9. Hit Submit
  10. Wait for your image to upload
