2009 Reunion Brainstorming
Hi all! Mom wanted me to post something about this year's reunion. As 50% or so of the family is with child or baby, our choices of dates and places seem to be limited, so we were thinking the sooner, the better. I don't know what everyone had in mind this year, but I think it'd be a pity to skip it. So, here are some possibilities: Feel free to voice yea's or nays.
1. Mary was thinking of blessing her baby May 31, which is over Memorial Day weekend, which is also the weekend Michael graduates. I could look into finding us a sweet rental in that area....There's a lot to do around there that's fun, but I don't want Mary to be in charge with her newborn, so we'd have to collaborate. (ie, I'll take the reigns, if need be)
2. We could "meet in the middle" as previously discussed somewhere in Idaho for camping or cabining. If possible, it'd be great to do that sooner than later so we don't have to worry about my labor being the main event.
3. We could wait til the end of summer and ransack mom's house and devour her food storage and tie 3000 quilts and make 5000 school bags for the humanitarian effort. Camping in her back yard could be fun for the grandkids?
4. Everyone could come to Boise for the 4th of July celebration and my baby's blessing. There are 5 vacant lots across the street for tents. ha ha I'm sure I could come up with accomodations here, too.
5. We could all go to Portland in the middle of July....
6. We could just skip the summer idea and meet up for Thanksgiving somewhere dressed like pilgrims.
Now I'm just running out of ideas. I'm sure something could work, and if it doesn't work for everyone, we'll just do the best we can do to get as many of us together as we can. Still keep in the back of your mind that NEXT year will be somewhere in Idaho with the main event being the triathlon--everyone can do it, I promise.
Let the discussion begin!
